An Egg and a Piece of Toast become one..

I’ve heard and seen a morning meal called “Egg in a hole” many times. Not sure were it originates from or who came up with the idea. So I decided to try this lovely meal one morning, to see if it was worth making again.
Its very easy…you can cook this while wearing a blind fold…but don’t do that…
Start with a piece of bread and using a biscuit cutter (a round cookie cutter or small measuring cup works too) cut out a hole in the middle of your bread.
Remove and discard the piece of bread you just cut out (or save it and give it to your dog).
Melt 1/2 to 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet on medium-high.
Add your bread to the skillet. Move it around the skillet to soak up some of the melted butter, then flip it over to coat the other side.
Carefully crack an egg open and drop it into the hole in your bread.
Let the the egg cook for about 2-3 minutes. Season with some salt and pepper before flipping it over.
Once flipped over, cook for another 2-3 minutes or less depending on how runny you like your eggs.
Remove from heat and serve hot with a side of crispy bacon..yum!
See how easy that was? Its very good and I make it almost every other day. If you cook the egg until its well done (not runny), you can take it to go and eat it as if you would a piece of toast with some butter, no utensils required.
Now I must go and attend to the laundry piles that never seem to go away…
