Its Muuunday! Its cloudy…cold…and I have no plans on taking my crazy kids anywhere. So what’s a mom of three supposed to do with herself?
Even better…Cook up some bacon!
That’s right…bacon…I love me some bacon! If lovin’ bacon is wrong…I don’t want to be right!
There’s a lot bacon that gets eaten’ in my house. So rather than frying up some every other day, I cook a pack of it in the morning ( usually in the beginning of the week) and freeze it, so I can use it later.
Really… Black Martha…you freeze bacon? Yes I freeze cooked bacon and use it later. I learned that you could do this a while ago and it saves me time in the morning when my kids are hysterical cause there blood sugar is low and they have to eat…like…NOW!!, or when I just want to add it to a sandwich and/or use it in a recipe.
Let me show you how its done…its easy
Cook bacon for 12-15 minutes rotating baking sheets halfway through cooking time. I usually flip my bacon over after 7 minutes, then rotate my baking sheets. Just keep a close eye on your bacon, no one likes burnt bacon.
Once your bacon is done, transfer to paper towels and pat off the grease. Let cool to room temperature. Wrap 2 -3 slices of bacon up in plastic wrap and store the bundles in the freezer up to two weeks.
When your ready to use your bacon grab what u need, remove from plastic wrap. If you want to warm it up a little, place on a paper towel and heat in the microwave for 10 seconds.
And that’s my helpful tip of the day. Happy Munday! – BM
