I’ve been wanting to make a tart for a long time now and I finally built up enough patience to go through the timely process of making one. I’ve read through countless recipes and tutorials on how to make tart dough and OMG… I would ask myself is it worth the time? and the answer is….yes…oh its worth it…once you find the right tart dough to make.
I found a great tart recipe on Smitten Kitchen and you don’t need a food processor to make it (you should get one though). You can either roll out the dough or just press it in right into you tart pan. Freeze for 30 minutes or longer. Put it in the oven and 25 minutes later…you have a lovely tart crust. The picture above is the pressed in dough method…which left me with a crack…which was whack…but no biggie.
Then I made some Pastry Cream. Its this creamy, sweet and delicious filling that’s used in a lot of fresh fruit tarts.
