There is one thing that Black Martha wishes to be better at…and that’s keeping her plants alive. For many years I have killed just about every plant that I’ve owned. I would water them, talk to my plants, put them in the best spot so they get sunlight…but for some reason or another…my plants would dry up and DIE!
With the trouble I’ve had in the past trying to keep plants alive, I’m sure you’re wondering why I decided to buy some herbs and TRY to grow my own herb garden for the summer. Well I’m not sure why I did either. A couple weeks ago we took our kids to this fun Easter festival and there they had these beautiful herbs for sale. I couldn’t resist and they were so cheap (just caught up in the moment). So I bought three of them and got one for free. I thought it would be nice to use some fresh herbs in some of my recipes and maybe have success in keeping these little guys alive for the season. Can’t be that hard right?
This is what they looked like the day I got them. Gorgeous…happy…little herbs. Got some Rosemary, Basil, Parsley, Spinach, and Mint.
I’m at a loss here people. I did some research and found that herbs like 6-8 hours of sun and it might be a good idea if I plant them in some pots with good soil…they might just have a chance. The one plant that looks the best is my Rosemary…she’s a tough one. But as far as my other plants go…I’m skeptical…really skeptical. Its moments like these that make me wonder if I should bother with this stuff at all. But I will not give up this time…I am determined to keep this freakin’ herbs alive.
